Roll up! Roll up! It's time for Circus Camp!
Wednesday 1st - Sunday 5th June 2022
Yes! Circus Camp 2022 is all go!
The theme this year is Jesters and Harlequins, so expect much colourful jollity, bell-jangling and merrymaking!
THE WORKSHOPS ARE NOW SOLD OUT (as of 12th March), however we still have tickets left for under 6's and family members. If you have missed out please get in touch to go on our waiting list.
What is Circus Camp?
Circus Camp is a family circus skills camp aimed primarily at home educating families, all set in a beautiful field near Watton in Norfolk, with camping in the adjacent field. We (Sarah & Cosmo from The Foolhardies) home educate our youngest son, so we like to put this event on to bring together more people to meet and play circus with us!
It is a relaxed, safe, fun filled week with dedicated age-specific circus skills training workshops for the participants between 10am and 4pm Wednesday to Sunday, culminating in performances to show off what you’ve learnt on the Sunday afternoon. No previous circus experience is needed, just the desire to have a go!
After the workshops each day, we have other circus related activities (including taster circus skills sessions for all adults and any non-participating children 10 years or older), and then fab evening circus shows, talent shows, a cabaret evening, disco (fancy dress!), storytelling and more, followed by campfire stories, singing and acoustic music, plus a circus skills fire display too.
There is also a colourful circus inspired area for the under 6's with circus skills and games, plus a craft barn for all ages, a circus cinema in another barn, and other facilities including our fab cosy info tent with free tea and coffee all week, sofas to lounge on, charging points for phones, lots of free hugs and good conversation with other home-ed families, plus a small shop selling circus equipment and a few small pocket money items.
Also lots of yummy on site catering options - click here for full info.
We welcome arrivals from 9am til 1pm on the Wednesday, with the Welcome Meeting at 1.30pm, followed by initial circus workshops that afternoon, with the Foolhardy Circus show that evening. The end of week children's performances will be on Sunday late morning and another in the afternoon, after which it will be farewell once again, till next time - although please do stay a further night if you wish, a few families always do and its a really chilled evening sitting around the campfire chatting.
(Likewise, if you are traveling a long distance to get to camp please get in touch as we can have some arrivals on the Tuesday afternoon if necessary.)
We always sell out quickly, so do book your tickets early.
Ok, well, much to organise and all very exciting. Anyone who wishes to get involved and help run this event is welcome to get in touch. We love helpers!
See you all at camp.
Sarah, Cosmo, Vicki and Lucas xxxx
