HOME-EDUCATORS CIRCUS CAMP - Home Page
26/03/20 This event is now CANCELLED
17/03/20 - Our response to the Corona Virus, for all you lovely circus campers, with regards Circus Camp 2020:
We hope we find you well and thriving in these uncertain times. We hope you can find things to laugh at, things to feel passionate about, things to keep you connected to both other humans and to our lovely earth, even when you are warned against it. Stay safe, but stay happy.
We are aware that events are being cancelled all around us, indeed due to management concerns and governmental advice we have had to cancel our forthcoming Easter Circus Show at Wroxham Barns, which we are very sad about.
So we wanted to get in touch to let you know that we fully intend to go ahead with Circus Camp 2020, and hope that you all feel as keen to come as we are keen to run it! We have all but sold out, in less than two weeks, which shows a massive vote of confidence in carrying on regardless from all you wonderful people.
We are still seeing cancellation as a last resort, and are planning and plotting for it all to go ahead. We would ask that you hold your nerve, to keep positive intentions to come as planned, with the safety net of a secure refund plan in place. Our deeply held hope is that we'll be sitting in the sunshine this May, looking back on these uncertain days, but rest assured we are planning for the alternative.
If the government strongly advises smaller events to be cancelled and for us all to stay at home, and our camp can't take place as planned, we will offer:
Firstly, the option to carry your tickets forward to our next event. We may try to schedule the camp later this year, but if not, your tickets would be valid for Circus Camp 2021.
Second, a full refund (less the £5 admin fee).
In the case of a full cancellation, we will be asking for a little help from you all - perhaps in the form of £5 or £10 donations - towards paying for non-refundable costs that we've already incurred (e.g. deposit paid on porta-loos of £800). We will struggle to cover these costs ourselves, and insurance doesn't cover this, so your support would be massively appreciated if it comes to that. Of course, we completely understand if you feel you cannot help out.
If camp is running, but you need to cancel due to illness or infection concerns, our usual cancellation policy will apply. Please get in touch and we will do our best to reallocate your tickets to people on the waiting list. If we can reallocate your tickets, we will refund them (less a £5 admin fee). We cannot guarantee this, especially close to the event, but we give you our word we will do our best so that nobody need lose out.
So, no need to panic, no need to worry, all will be well. We so look forward to seeing you all again for our annual foray into the world of circus, with sunshine and laughter, in the not too distant future :-)
Take care and keep smiling,
with much love,
Sarah, Vicki, Cosmo, Lucas and the Foolhardy Team xxx

What is Circus Camp?
Circus Camp is a family circus skills camp aimed primarily at home educating families, all set in a beautiful field near Watton in Norfolk, with camping in the adjacent field. We (Sarah & Cosmo from The Foolhardies) home educate our youngest son, so we like to put this event on to bring together more people to meet and play circus with us!
It is a relaxed, safe, fun filled week with dedicated age-specific circus skills training workshops for the participants between 10am and 4pm Wednesday to Saturday, culminating in performances to show off what you’ve learnt. No previous circus experience is needed, just the desire to have a go!
After the workshops, we’ll have other circus related activities (including taster circus skills sessions for all adults and any non-participating children over 9 years), and then fab evening circus shows, talent shows, discos, storytelling and more, followed by campfire stories, singing and acoustic music, plus a circus fire skills display too.
There is also a colourful circus inspired area for the under 4s, a craft barn for all ages, our circus cinema in another barn, and other facilities including our fab cosy info tent with free tea and coffee all week, sofas to lounge on, free hugs and good conversation with other home-ed families, plus a small shop selling circus equipment and a few small pocket money items.
We’ll be welcoming arrivals from 1pm to 5pm on the Tuesday, with the Welcome Meeting at 7pm followed by bonfire and the circus cinema. This will give everyone time to set up camp and settle in before workshops begin on Wednesday morning. The Panic end of week children's own performance will be on Sunday morning and the Foolhardy end of week children's performance will be on Sunday early afternoon, after which it will be farewell once again, till next time..
We always sell out quickly, so do book your tickets early.
Ok, well, much to organise and all very exciting. Anyone who wishes to get involved and help run this event is welcome to get in touch. We love helpers!
See you all at camp.
Sarah, Cosmo, Vicki and Lucas xxxx
